How would I find the tare weight for say a 2000 Ford F-350 or a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 ( single wheel) I haul travel trailers for fleetwood and am wondering how to get tare weight to know what I can legaly haul

tare is what the truck weighs empty, you tare that away from the gross weight to get the actual load

Tare is the difference between GVWR Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and GVW Gross Vehicle Weight. In other words what the door sticker says the truck can haul and the weight of the truck.

california trucks list the GVW on the registration GVW = tare

Go to your local salvage yard or land fill. They usually have a scale. They will let you run accross to see how much your truck really wieghs.

Run it over a set of truck scales and then you know.
