The trinity is based on the Catholic Athanasian Creed, not on the Bible. In part, the AC says: "And the Catholic Faith is this, that we worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity. the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not Three Almighties but One Almighty. So there is One Father, not Three Fathers; one Son, not Three Sons; One Holy Ghost, not Three Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is afore or after Other, None is greater or less than Another, but the whole Three Persons are Co-eternal together, and Co-equal."
The trinity doctrine is not supported by the Bible. NOWHERE in Scripture does it say that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are co-equal, co-eternal, and almighty.
The previous responder says that Matt. 28:19 is proof of the trinity. But where in that verse does it say that all three "persons" are co-equal, co-eternal, and almighty AND that they all make up one God? It doesn't. If it did, then Jesus lied when he said that his Father was the ONLY true God, and that his Father was greater than he was. (John 17:3; 14:28)
The trinity is not a Bible teaching.

Although a father, son and Holy Spirit is mentioned all over the New Testament, the trinity thing didn't take root until the Roman Emperor Constantine met with Christian Leaders of that era and defined a creed.
The Catholic Church makes it clear that the Trinity cannot be comprehended by earthly beings...it's a thing of Faith.
There are instances in the New Testament when Jesus Said he was the son of God and one with God...this puzzles me.
I think that that there is a God, a Son and a Holy Spirit...but a Trinity in which God is God, Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God may be a thing of faith without reason.

For a complete definition of the trinity please see the Athanasian Creed.
The Doctrine of the Trinity comes from two sources, the oral and written Traditions of the Church known as the "regula fidei". It is one of the earliest understandings of the Church with clear indication from Scripture and from other writings such as the "Didache" and is supported by the writings of the anti-Nicene fathers. In studying this issue it is the only conclusion that can be arrived at by the body of Scriptures.
Later, it was necessary to address the issue in response to the heresies of the Arians and define the belief of the Church which was done in Church Council and the issue of Christ's divinity was put to rest for all times in Nicaea.

The doctrine of the Trinity is encapsulated in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs the apostles: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
The parallelism of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit is not unique to Matthew’s Gospel, but appears elsewhere in the New Testament (e.g., 2 Cor. 13:14, Heb. 9:14), as well as in the writings of the earliest Christians, who clearly understood them in the sense that we do today—that the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are three divine persons who are one divine being (God).
The Didache
"After the foregoing instructions, baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living [running] water. . . . If you have neither, pour water three times on the head, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (Didache 7:1 [A.D. 70]).
Ignatius of Antioch
"[T]o the Church at Ephesus in Asia . . . chosen through true suffering by the will of the Father in Jesus Christ our God" (Letter to the Ephesians 1 [A.D. 110]).
"For our God, Jesus Christ, was conceived by Mary in accord with God’s plan: of the seed of David, it is true, but also of the Holy Spirit" (ibid., 18:2).
Peace and every blessing!

Come now, there isn't any danger of that ever taking place. God is achieved conversing to us. the two that or no person values what he has to assert sufficient to jot down it down. And why, if guy is to no longer carry themselves in intense esteem, why then do the authors of the biblical text cloth sign their call in God's e book? So it is not substantial, faster or later human beings will start to comprehend that its no longer God's voice of their heads, its merely themselves following what they have been informed and agreed with. no longer something new is being stated. that's undesirable information for those protecting faith while their argument will under no circumstances demonstrate something new, the place because of the fact the form vulnerable, loose questioning persons learn and are available across new arguments popular!

Monotheism is to worship God and God alone. The trinity is pure polytheism, associating partners with God. This is man made
