I recently had a similar experience.
I had been praying for strength to deal with a particular situation. God told me, Trust, not strength. I took this to mean that I should stop praying for strength and let God be my strength. But something began to feel wrong. When we get the feeling that something isn’t what it should be, pay attention. Keep praying for understanding.
I kept praying about this and was led to material that has helped. I’m still working at this. But if there is one thing I’m sure about, we get our answers by continued prayer. Let go of any fears and worries and just take your concerns to God. Put him in the driver’s seat and let Him guide you to the answer.
Sometimes we think that God has given us our answer in prayer when He is actually giving us our starting point. We still need to do a lot of work. When he doesn’t seem to be responding, he is still listening, he’s just waiting for us to catch up to what he is trying to teach us. Or at least that is how it seems from my recent experience.

Not that I have mastered it, I began with that same question myself 15 yrs ago. Never wanting a religious answer but an answer that can pertain to my everyday life and something to really impact my life, I turned to the source - the Bible. I began reading so that (a) I can learn about how to have a powerful and effective relationship with God and (b) by reading it and applying the principles to my life daily, I would see if the Bible was really true and can be trusted. The version that I used was the NIV which was written in simple english and is widely accepted by the Christian community.
I then began to find a group (Church) that aligned themselves with what the Bible preached - non denominational, meaning not a group apart from Christianity. This was interesting as many claimed to be the correct way. It was easier to figure out once I had read the Bible (beginning in the NT) which was the group to be associated with. It was of great support to have others around because there is no such thing as a Lone Ranger Christian, at least one that doesn't last long.
Then you have the rest of your life to develop your relationship as one does in a marriage with their spouse. You get to know God more and better each passing day.
The best path I have taken so far in my life. Hope that helps!

First off, ask for Gods forgiveness for not spending enough time with Him. Secondly, you may find it helpful to become more involved in the church and make friends there. Having other Christians around you is a great safety net. Friends help keep you accountable and on track. I find good Christian music lifts my spirit when I feel God is far away. Music that I know the words to and can sing to. I like a little music before reading Gods Word and when I read, I ask God to give me wisdom and understanding of the scriptures I will be reading.
God Bless You...Peace.

I am a Chrisitian. First, life is not always perfect or nice because you are a Christian. Next, you must pray everyday and ask for forgiveness, strength, guidence. Don't ask for money or things. You must surround yourself with like minded individuals. You can not walk with God and be in a bar. You become a fisher of men in places such as a bar when you are very strong in faith and your walk. Find a good church. Find a prayer group. Don't lose faith as Satan will try to get you back on his team with an easy road and people who will mock you. I will pray for you tonight. READ PROVERBS EVERY DAY FOR WISDOM.

Hit your knees! The closest I have ever feel to God is when I get on my knees and pray talking to him and telling him I need his help and to keep the bad things away from me.
You can also go to church and start a new group of friends that like you want to be responsible and have God in their lives. You can always ask God to forgive you for your sins and to come into your heart. Just like you did when you were saved the first time.
If you're looking for an outlet right now, you can turn on your TV and watch the religious station. You could look up some prayer circles on line and add your name to the list asking others to pray for you that you find your way back to God.
Good luck to you and God bless I hope you find your way. And please know that God is love and God is with you. You just need to find your way.

Begin going to church regular and read and study your bible more. Ask the members of your church to pray for you and also pray for yourself that God will restore your faith and give you a desire have a closer relationship with him. You may be suprised to find that the church congregation can help you more than any of us on yahoo. God bless you and I will be praying for you too.

Lots of Christian book stores have great daily devotionals you can read. Infact, regular book stores do too. Those are a great, positive way to start out your day. If you're into journaling, get a short devotional and write a prayer or idea that the verse or concept illustrated in the devotional down. Also, get involved with a Bible study at your place of worship.

Honestly? I have never been closer since I followed the Bible and not the church. I have abandoned the Pagan ways. G-d has blessed me for eliminating Baal worship from my life.
I now keep the Sabbath, the most broken commandment of all.
I attend service on Saturday, as intended.
I deny Easter and Christmas....keep Passover and other feasts of Leviticus.
Trust me, there are Roman influences in Christianity that are appalling to G-d.

First you have to pray and talk to God. My preacher always said if you are thinking it, then God hears it, so talk to Him. Second, read your Bible and seek the answers there, I know it is hard, (I have 3 children, a husband, full time job and go to school full time), but you have to rely on Him. I am not saying don't worry about things, but if you honestly believe that God is in control, then the worry will be easier because you are trusting that God will help you through.
I hope this helps

Hi Chardon,
Begin by setting up a regular Bible Reading time and stick with it. My family and I attend Bible study regularly with a group of Christians who we respect greatly. I also pray in the morning, at meals, in the evening before I retire, and at other times when I find reason whether it be to thank our FATHER or to ask HIM to assist me or another throughout the day. Our GOD is awesome. I would be glad at any time to answer questions or to converse with you via email. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds, Christian
