If people knew they had a log in their own eye in the first place, that might be one thing. But since so many people are unaware of it, this would be a mighty quiet forum.
So I suppose the answer would be a regret-filled "No. A good idea but unworkable."

YES.
We need a "sticky question" or FAQ.
READ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS:
1. Yes. People on this forum believe in God.
2. Pascal's wager (i.e, the "if I'm right, you go to hell... what have you got to lose?") will not work here.
3. The meaning of life is 42.
4. There is no "Christians only" sign on this section. Atheists are as free to be here as you are.
5. This is an OPEN FORUM, and not your personal venue to preach and evangelize. Doing so violates the Y!A Community Guidelines.
6. Evolution happened. Get over it. If you have questions about it, ask the people over in the Biology section.
7. Atheists don't know everything. We do not believe in any gods... and only a few of us claim that no gods exist. The cool part? They can actually prove it.

No.
This suggestion, reductio ad absurdum, negates our ability to teach entirely. It also, accordingly, prevents us from learning from any outside source. Consider that none of us is truly without fault, and you'll understand my point. Should we all stop talking?
What's more, this maxim is frequently used to justify foolish behavior- only being cited when an opportunity arises to distract from one's own "twig" by drawing attention to the would-be benefactor's "log".
In the best case scenario, we're still at a net loss for this advice, since helpful words may be left unspoken because the would-be speaker is silenced by his own guilt, shame, or fear.
Essentially, and practically, this biblical axiom of lumber and humility is more harmful than helpful. It discourages one from seeking wisdom from any possible source, and encourages us to compare ourselves to others instead of learning what we can from their criticism, all the while causing some to remain silent because of nothing more serious than self-doubt or a "twig" in their eye.
So... no.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. If we do that in our everyday's lives we would not get into trouble as much as we do and it would definitely help to keep the peace with one another..

That sounds about right. That sounds pretty fair to me. Unfortunately a lot of people won't go for it for one reason or another.

But that would discourage all the crazy people!
Leave the visual disturbances in place.
Literal and delusional.
