I want to know this for my own personal use. I need to know where in the bible it talks about how we should view God. I know it says put him first. But where does it talk about what he should mean to us. Or where in the bible does someone in the bible talk about what God means to them. Thanks for your help.

1) check how Jesus interacted with His Father: with reverence and openness.
2) check how the prophets/apostles interacted with God: view Him as a benevolent King, but also as He who has ownership of your life. I suggest Jeremiah 12. It shows how Jeremiah expressed Himself to God, but was still repsectful
3) look how ordinary people (like Esther, David, Abraham) feared, and were open with God. Abraham even pleaded with God and got favour for his nephew Lot and his family (Soddom and Gomorrah).
4) you want to know what God means to some Biblical figures?
optimistic - try psalms, chronicals, the samuels
darker - try earlier ecclesiastes (life without God is...)
