Would a doctor even allow you to have a body part amputated for no reason?

sex change operations do such as that! but, it's for a reason, even if it's not a medical condition.

There is a mental illness wherein the individual wants an amputation. 99.5% of doctors will not remove a part of the body without a valid medical reason.

omg, if someone actually requests such a thing... the person should be sent directly to see a psychiatrist...

No. That would be a violation of their code of Ethics. They're job is to make you well, not handicap you when there is nothing wrong.
