Apologize to him and have a conversation with him. If you want to be friends then that's good and you can go out as friends. He may still have feelings for you so keep that in mind. If you start to warm up to him and vice versa then their's no harm in that. It wouldn't be a lie. So just be friends and if you ain't feeling him, then that will be that. But you never know he might be just you have been missing! Good luck. :)

If you not interested in him don't ask him out. That is cruel. You may just want to explain to him what happened and apologise. Make sure you are sincere or it is best maybe if you just leave it. No need to cause any unneccesary hurt.
Maybe invest in some new friends. No need to be so mean, even if it is just for a laugh.

Talk to him and tell him your friends did something wrong and say sorry but I'm not into you .. in a nice way .. don't go out with him cause you feel sorry for something someone else did .. but don't be mean to him either .. you should be flattered he likes you ....but ya say sorry but don't go out with him .. that's stupid if you don't like him that way ...

It's okay to apologize to him for being a bit harsh and tell him you didn't mean to hurt his feelings but please don't ever consider going out with someone simply because you're feeling guilty. That would be extremely dumb.

Tell him your friends were being stupid, and yes appoligize for blowing him off, dont give him a pitty date though, that would be leading him on more, just tell him if he would like to hang out as friends or something you would like to, just be honest, and who knows, maybe you will become interested

Never mind. You owe him nothing. If you feel very generous you could talk to him and tell him that your friends did this.
You are not responsible for their actions.
Like a guy that you really like, not one that you feel (wrongly) that you owe something to.

No. Do not ask him out if you don't like him. Just don't do it. His happiness doesn't matter, no matter how nice he is. It's your happiness, your relationship status that matters. Not his. You're you, don't worry about being nice if you don't want to be with someone.
And it's not mean just to NOT date someone.
Tell him what happened.
Apologize.
You do NOT at all need to date him.
