My money's on Chuck Norris. Steven Segal may have the advantage of weight and reach, but he's taken on a lot of pounds since his first movie. Chuck on the other hand has kept training to this day and is living a healthy lifestyle. In a fight, factors like stamina, flexibility and proficiency of skill in all the ranges of combat greatly influence the outcome. So, while Segal may be more proficient in grappling while standing up, but grappling on the ground is another story, and Chuck has trained with the Machado brothers in BJJ so he can go to the ground if neccessary. Combine that with Chuck's striking and kicking skills which are definitely faster and better than Segal's and that gives him the definite edge.

Chuck Norris (Walker) is in amazing shape, the guy seems made a pact with the devil to stop aging, on top of that he's an accomplished full contact Karate champion. He's been training longer than Steven Seagal, to the point the Chuck even trained with the legendary Bruce Lee (even had a fighting scene against each other) Steven Seagal is an accomplished Aikido master, but to my knowledge hasn't won any sparring competitions, he seems out of shape and overweight in his movies.

I give the edge to Chuck Norris, on the basis of actual fighting experience, and currently still being able to kick butt.

I'd pay anything to watch Steven Seagal take his shirt off and fight the ranger dude. Steve would win easy

That would be a tough one. The people who are referring to Seagal as out of shape, well, think of this... The founder of Aikido was a little old man who would throw people around like rag dolls. SS wouldn't necessarily have to be in perfect shape to make use of Aikido. Also, he was a 5th dan when he made his FIRST movie which was what, 500 years ago. He studied in Japan. One thing people forget is that SS is a very imposing man, and even out of shape, has incredibly quick hands. I think I'd give it to SS, but Norris could just as easily take out a leg with a kick and the fight's over.

I have respect for each. I am an Aikidoist and have alot of respect for Sensei Segal. However, the one that would win really is dertermined by who was the star of the movie. The other one would lose. If it was a Segal movie he'd win. If it was a Norris movie, he'd win. That is the real just of it.

Chuck gets my vote. I stopped watching Segal movies. They had to be doctored up so much to make him look fast still that they look terrible. Norris looks the same as he did in his old movies. Segal almost reminds me of the old 80's hair bands trying to make a come back.

roger ebert actually said it was an insult to tony ja to compare him to steven segull, that comment alone causes me to have no faith in steven segull because tony ja is just starting out. and chuck norris is like 60yrs old and looks naturally under 40. since he's clearly in better shape chuck would win easy.
