Is that why you're suppose to take it before you eat?

No, it is advertised as a fat burner, not a fat blocker. A fat burner is supposed to help to raise your metabolism, increase energy and suppress your appetite. You take it before meals so your metabolism can speed up to burn the fat and to decrease your appetite so you don't eat as much.

A fat blocker is supposed to block the fat before it enters into the absorption process of the body.

For the record, these are ineffectual for most people and end up being a waste of money. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones that has success. Nothing ventured, nothing gained so give it a try. Good luck!
