So you didn't actually meet her in person? Either way, as long as it doesn't go beyond friendship, it's not cheating. But the problem is, if your girlfriend finds out about it, the fact that you didn't tell her will make her worry anyway. Honesty is always the best policy as far as I'm concerned. If you let her know you're chatting to guys and girls, but it's all just friendly, there shouldn't be a problem. Just KEEP it friendly, don't cross any boundaries because that's when it is cheating. If your girlfriend has a problem with you chatting to other girls in a friendly manner, that's her problem and maybe you should reconsider the relationship and find someone who trusts you a little more. Otherwise, happy chatting!

If you only met them then no it's not cheating but assuming where you must want this to go since you are thinking about it then it definitely falls into the miss use of trust clause. Shame shame on you. You have to let some one go before you start soliciting again. You can't hold on to them for a spare while you shop for better.

Meeting people is not cheating. Harboring thoughts or having future intentions is beng being unloyal, but not cheating.

banging her at Motel 6 at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon under the pseudo-name "Bob and Mary Smith" is cheating.

Not yet,
but you should really consider why you have a new Internet friend, and you might want to tell your girlfriend not to take your relationship with her to seriously.

If it feels like cheating, it's cheating. That you have to ask suggests that it's cheating.
