I stir fry all the time! I use a large frying pan. I boil rice in a pot, then I marinate meat of choice then dice the veggies and boil them for a couple minutes then shock them with ice water, then I cook the meat and throw in the veggies at the very end to tenderize them. Then I mix it all together over the rice and serve immediately! My kids love it!

Yes, and yes! Stir fry is a manner of cooking, and does not depend on the pot you are cooking in. Just like it says, one keeps stirring while frying.

If u want the taste like restaurant u need a fry pan big enough to stir the food around, The main thing is the fry pan must be hot enough and what to cook first. its not just dump everything in there, and put the lid on. u need to know how long to leave the lid on,or don't put the lid on. if u leave the lid on too long . it turn out to be garbage. Some recipe don't tell u that and it take lots practice

You don't need a wok. But, you would want to use a frying pan. Not a pot.

absolutely!!!! I've owned one wok in my life and have used my primary skillets and non-stick pans to do my stir-frys, crepes and such. Sometimes you have to use your imagination, but our ancesters have been getting along just fine with the basics and turning out some great dishes!

actually a very large skillet 12" - 14" would be better than a sauce pan. that way you can scoot the stuff out to the sides away from the heat.
