I have not done this, but it seems plauaible.
Put as much of a single sheet into the jar and with a bottle brush smooth it as much as you can. Then fill the jar with sand. Then top it off with water , put on a oil cloth or similar cover with a heavy rubber band. Tap the jar bottom on the carpeted floor a few times and then flush it out.

Get u silver paint and put it in and run it around good and smooth coat. Pour out the surplus and let dry.
