Where are the representatives of other religions? I'd really like to see more questions and answers from people of other faiths too. Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Lukumi, Taoists etc. Why is this place so focused on Christianity?

Once again,

George Washington was NOT a Christian.

Thomas Jefferson was NOT a Christian.

Abraham Lincoln was NOT a Christian.

Benjamin Franklin was NOT a Christian.

Please stop saying this country was founded by believers. This is a lie.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Did you notice the little thing on the left of your monitor - where within it is told the area of Yahoo answers that you are in?

Dare I point out the obvious - that this is the “Religion and Spirituality” area of Yahoo Answers and such is where people that are going to be in discussion on such topics are going to be posting?

Why not more from other beliefs? Again - the obvious. This is an English speaking area for Yahoo Answers and those posting here are posting in that language and because of such are going to represent the common beliefs of those that fit within that setting? Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Lukumi, Taoists, etc. are just not as common in English speaking countries.

I'm new,but my initial impression is that atheists and fundies have turned it into their personal Megiddo or battlefield. It is not pleasant. Not only are other faiths ignored, but even acknowledgement of Christian diversity is undermined. Most Christians in America are neither Evangelical nor Catholic. And there appears to be little involvement by Muslims and none that I can see by Jews; it could serve as a good forum for a Jewish-Muslim dialogue,I would think. There is also a heavy pagan element, which I would normally welcome except that in this case they merely align themselves with atheists in their never-ending War with the Evangelicals, ignoring the fact that atheists despise all religion anywhere, big or small. It's a mess. Stay on board. The only solution is more participation by persons other than atheists and fundamentalists.

It's religion AND spirituality. If it was religion only it would not have Christians and spiritists. I'm an American and it was founded by Christians, the constitution was instituted and a Christian document, all state constitutions mission statement declare they operate as God centered , the 1st president was a Godly man, and there is freedom of religion here. Millions of American men and women gave their lives so you could practice your cult without anything but a little harassment now and then. Try that in Syria, Iran, Afghanistan or just about anyplace else other than US, Canada, and some of the Central American countries.

"Why is this place so focused on Christianity?"

A. Because many people in the world hate Christ and Christianity and we all know that controversy is a great catalyst for conversation.

B. Because many Americans post here and the majority of the American society ascribe to the Christian faith.

C. Because many people here post question concerning Christianity.

I don't see this changing anytime soon for the very reasons I posted. However, I've seen questions and answers concerning other religions and atheism here so it's not totally over run with Christian themed questions and answers.

The other religions are here but most of them don't dare to post except on rare occasions because of the attitudes of the Christians (and occasionally the Muslims).

The Christians are the ones that feel they need to spread their religion. The rest of the religions know they should keep their mouths shut (though Muslims do it too occasionally).

If you watch the conversations on here... the moment that anyone of any other religion posts, at least one Christian jumps in with "You need to find god", "You're worshipping Satan" or "You need to read the bible".

Atheists usually say something like "I think its all crap" and leave it at that. The Christians are ruder.

Its in Christian doctrine to spread their religion any way possible.

Well, for one thing this site is English-speaking, so many of the religions you quote wouldn't be posting on a forum like this. Of course there are still many of them who do too. But it seems that there are a majority of christians and atheists posting here, those being the two dominant viewpoints in most questions.

Well, Hindus and Buddhists like me generally side with the atheists, as Christianity makes no sense to us and both Hinduism and Buddhism can be used without God.

Though JC is a pretty cool guy, I'm not a Christian.

Alas, I seem to be MUCH better at answering questions than I am at asking them.

But if I come up with a non-Christian question, I'll definitely post it.

It's, like, 30% Christian, 30% Atheist (most of whom only ask Christian based questions to bait them), and 40% other. So 60% either promote or degrade Christianity. Others are here, but not in much number.

For two possible reasons, 1. The country you live in is mostly Christian. 2. The other religions don't wish to come here and be insulted after reading some of the insults Christian get from coming to this site.
