I've recently applied for social security income because since I was little I was in some slow classes, like in reading and math, and I'm currently on medication for anxiety and bi polar, plus paranoid skitso, which I'm not really that but the medication is for that too. I'm also in counsiling and about a year ago was on meth really bad and I'm still recovering. I haven't heard anything yet but I was wondering if that would be enough for me to qualify for SSI, and also, I'm single so about how much would I get a month?

i receive social security disability.....it took me about a year to start receiving it after i applied. i get it for bipolar and schitzo tendencies. the amount you get depends on how much you have paid into social secuirty during the jobs you have had. you can get a summary from social security telling you how much you would get right now if you became disabled. good luck :)

Usually, it takes about three to five months to find out how you fare....there is an SSI website, but I am not sure where you are, so I will give you the link to the one here in California....if you have documentation of the Paranoid Schzyophrenia, you will almost surely get the ssi...you will get a retro active check from the time you applied, based on the amount monthly you are going to be granted....and it varies from state to state, on the amount...so go here, and see if you can find out what you need to know..but be patient, you should get it...it just does take a little while...and if it takes TOO long, you can also get an attorney that specializes in this, who will take a fee, of course, but it might be worth it in the end...............http://www.ssa.gov/ ......put in your state, and hopefully you will find the answers you need. Good luck, and my prayers are for you sweetheart...God Bless..

I think it depends on how much you've put into the system. Then it's a percentage of that.
As an example, if I were to retire now (at 46) my SSI would be $1140 a month, if I wait till I'm 65, I'll get $1960. (based on estimations of wages for the next 19 yrs)

Not really sure if you will qualify on mental status.
My son gets 603 a month but he has alot of problems.
Mainly a chromosome abnormality and seizure disorder.

I think if you have documents to prove your disorders then maybe you'll have a good chance of recieving benefits. At the moments the monthly amount is about $500+ .
