you just have to be very careful. cats are very sneaky. My cats are constantly trying to get out and i have two kids that aren't exactly diligent about watching for them. keep in mind, that every time they get out it just makes them more determined to get out again.

The main reason that she will be getting bullied by neighborhood cats will be territory wars (and if she hasn't been spayed males trying to mate with her).

Now that the cat knows the freedom of going outside, keeping her in would be difficult for her to adjust to and understand. The chances are that she would either find a way out or yowl to be let out, leading to no sleep for you.

The first thing that needs sorting out is her territory. When she's out in the garden in the day, go out with her. You'd be amazed how many other cats are slinking around and they are less inclined to bother her on her own territory when you are backing her up.If you do see them a well aimed squirt from a water pistol does the trick.
Rub a cloth on her cheeks and then on to different points in the garden. This will transfer her scent and tell other cats that the space is taken.

Also rubbing orange peel, mothballs and eucalyptus oil onto the garden boundaries will deter any cats from coming in to her space.

The next thing is to get her spayed if she hasn't been already. This will make her less inclined to wander and less likely to suffer the injuries of feline courtship.

Hope this is of some help.

:)

Even I don't let my cat out at night, we have monkeys here, as well as one or two ferals, I jut call her in for supper and the door gets closed. End of story, she sees outside again next morning.
She's fixed, but used to be able to go outside and loved being able to do so back home (it was safe there, no dogs only fixecd cats), but I'm not having monkey-bites to contend with.

Easy..don't let her out. If she has her own "kitty door" usually they have some kind of "lock" (bar or some way to secure the door so nothing can get in or out) If it's an old door that doesn't have this you might be able to replace your door with a newer one that has this feature. It's usually a good idea to have one anyway due to the fact that I've heard of burgulars and other unwanted guests (other pets/wild animals/strays) gaining access to people's homes by means of open (unsecured) animal doors.

Buy a giant Bullwinkle outfit and a gallon of bull moose urine (circle K). put on the out fit and pour the scent all over you than go out into the night and hide... you must be still as the night...when he comes to explore the oder-source... wait till you see the whites of his eyes... then roar like a lion and pounce upon him with all you've got! that should do the trick. make sure you pour moose urine all over every where you would prefer your cat to not habitate at so as to induce the memory of your roaring and pouncing upon it whence it arrives at the undesirable to be pounced upon and roared at place. if this does not work maybe the accomadating Rocky costume for your cat would enable him to roam more freely amongst its peers... just don't acompany him the first time out in the full Bullwinkle regailea or you may run the risk of a magor faux-pau upon your kitty's concience and kitty-cat psychologist's ain't cheap (they don't always work either: mine meows like a cow now) MOOOEOWW!

How old is she? She could be in heat. When a boy cat impregnates a female cat.. it hurts her.. the pain triggers ovulation. Sounds to me like you have kittens in your future :)

p.s. get her spayed when the kittens are about 10 weeks old and if you do not...do not let her outside or you will be overwhelmed with kittens in a very short time.

Put her in a cat cage (haha) or just lock the doors and windows so then she won't go outside. Another way is to put her in ur laundry and close the door so then she can't get out.

I keep my doors closed and all of my windows have screens (yeah, my kitties know not to scratch at em). My kitties don't want to be outside anyways though. They like being inside. If I stuck them out (I'd never do that), they'd howl at the door and scratch at it. However, since your kitty seems to like going out, screens on an open window more than likely won't help. You have to keep the doors and windows closed all the time otherwise your kitty's gonna keep getting out. Just be really aware of where your kitty is every time before you open the door.

Try blocking the entrances to the outside and keep her inside each night until it makes a pattern that she understands. If she gets outside when you don't want her to spray her with some water from a spray bottle.
