started to sound. i tried disconnecting it and plugging it back in but to no avail. i used it for at least an hour and a half beofre this happened. they are located in my room where there is a lamp and alarm clock and a printer. does this mean they are broken or damaged?

It might not be the speaker - it might be the amplifier that is powering it. It could also be that your voice coils are shot if you had overdriven them beyond their power handling capacity.

Depends on what is near them and what types of connection you have going into the system. Who made the speakers and are you sure the wires are clear of any tears or rips in them? Most of the time if you are getting sound, it could mean other issues with another piece of equipment.

make sure u do not have them to close to a cell phone. cell phones cause interferance. also oncei bought a tv and it was put to close to my stereo equipment and it caused buzzing noise.

you blowed the speaker you must of had your music to high
