The memory card should be OK - you can transfer the photos directly using a memory card reader that's connected to your computer's USB port - for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000069+1319721987+4024&Description=memory+card+reader&name=%241+-+%2410
just be sure to get a memory card reader that supports the type of memory used by your digital camera.

First, the pictures on the memory card are okay. Take it out and bring the card to CVS or WalMart and stick it in one of those kiosks and you'll see the pics. You can even get them put on a CD while you're at it.

Either that, or get a card reader and you can copy the pics to your computer.

The camera wouldn't be covered under warranty because the camera was dropped. That kind of damage isn't covered. The camera is going to have to go to a camera shop or be replaced.

Get an estimate, it'll probably be cheaper to get a new camera unless the damage is really minor.

I had a similar thing happen to my Fuji camera and it took almost 6 months for the repair because the camera went back to Japan.

There is not much you could do for the camera. except to send it to a camera repair shop. And concerning the pictures, I'm very sure there is no problem at all with them or the card since this has no moving parts that could be damaged.
