First I'd check the paper and make sure I wasn't reading the Sun or some other BS magazine. Then I'd probably laugh, considering he stated that he didn't think Wicca was a real religion.
He would probably be impeached. I'm sure Mainstream wouldn't sit still for a Wiccan or any other person who didn't subscribe to Mainstream to be President.

I would think he had been replaced by a look-a-like, or body-snatcher, or something. Then I would wonder if he had gotten back on coke because they is way out of character for him. Then I would wonder about the relevance of claims from a recent convert (as he would be). Then I would worry about how his actions would make that community look bad, but then remember that he's a recent convert and probably won't be taken too seriously. If he hires advisers from that faith it would show he wasn't just going senile. The publicity might help, depending on what kind of person would then consider, and look into, also joining Wicca. I heard many words come out of his mouth that he made no efforts to match with action. I would worry how this would damage the image of Wicca. Bush's endorsement would be comparable to having Hitler support something. But, in the end, I'm more of a Heathen than a Wiccan and I've never been initiated so I'm not sure I count as a Wiccan anyhow, no matter how many books I read or practice.
The masses would rush out to find out what Wicca is. The Right would distance themselves further from him. The Left would make some subdued scoffing, but nothing too loud or mocking. His own father would make a public speech about this, one way or the other. It would shake things up.

I would think it is the big joke and look around for the real newspaper. As a Wiccan I can say that G.W. doesn't exemplify any of the ideal that we hold dear. He doesn't respect Mother Earth and he doesn't mind bringing harm to others. He would have to undergo a complete personality change not to mention he believes himself to be a good Christian (which I have heard many Christians say he doesn't follow the teachings of Christ very well either) with a deep belief in that faith.
I would say that if he ever did convert to Wicca the public outcry from his major backers would cause him to resign from office.

To me it would rase the question of will his approach with Iraq change do to this change in religion? If it wouldn't change that then what would be the difference?
Anyone can say they follow any religion and that claim means nothing. What matters is what impact that religions ideas have on the way the person behaves towards others!
This is what really matters not the man made label one defines themself with.

I would be surprised. Very. I am told he can be open minded but I don't know about that far.
Also, he was raised a Christian.
I think the public would go berserk.
I am a Christian but Wicca is beautiful

There's nothing to convert to because I don't consider Wicca a witchcraft.

I would believe that George was a Wiccan as much as I believe he actually is a Christian, which is to say, I don't.
Anyone can pretend they are part of any religion as long as no real proof is asked of them.

I think I'd be about as surprised as I was when I found out he had a devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
I freaked out. Not in a bad way though.

There would be a collective cursing done by those few secretly rebellious Wiccans who don't always follow the Rede.
