My best advice is "Don't." There are often files in several directories, some of them not obvious, some of them dangerous to muck around with, (like Windows\ and Windows\System32). Some of the files may be required by other programs you don't even know about. There are likely multiple registry keys to delete or return to a previous state. Any package without an uninstall is dicey to try to delete by hand.

You might try contacting the program publisher to see if they have any advice. Symantec, for instance, has apparently run into so much trouble with uninstalls that they have a general purpose program that cleans EVERYTHING of theirs off your machine so you can reinstall with a clean baseline.

Never use the delete key - you'll only end up deleting the shortcut, with the program still on the system. Without using an un-installer, the only way around removing all components (that aren't being used by other software) is by going into control panel and clicking on 'add or remove programs' and clicking on the software you want to remove - if using a PC

Uninstall is the best way.

Also try CCleaner available at www.filehippo.com, but it'll probably invoke the uninstaller as well.
