I haven't made a decision yet on whether I should become a pharmacist or a medical doctor. But I am leaning more towards becoming a doctor than a pharmacist because I am much more interested in biology than chemistry.

Most US allopathic medical school require that their entering students have basic coursework in biology, organic chemistry, chemistry, and physics. Increasingly, biochemistry and advanced biology courses such as cell biology, genetics, and physical chemistry have become more helpful as preparation for medical school. This is especially true for the MCAT (the SAT equivalent for med school). Having an interest in science is definitely great in a physician as many aspire to not only help our patients individually but to do research that can someday make an impact in clinical care for many patients.

I suggest you speak to a academic counselor or other students preparing for med school or pharm school. Also, shadow a physician and talk to medical students, it will give you invaluable help in discovering if medicine is where you want to go. Best of luck!

If you're interested in biology, you should ain to be a biologist. Doctors take two years of coursework on medical science and human biology, followed by 2 years of clinical rotations, which are very different from learning biology. If you don't want to be a doctor, then you're looking at a big struggle. It takes a lot of motivation to go through everything being a doctor requires.
