How do you protect your children?

Do they have skills like martial arts.

My daughter is 9yrs. old. She is my life. From a very young age I have taught her about all the possible dangers. She is enrolled in Karate classes and loves them. She loves to spar the boys, just to kick their butts. lol. I hired a guy to build her a target range. She has a little single shot .22 rifle, HOT PINK, nonetheless! To my amazement, she is a great shot. She was old enough this year to enroll her in 4-H Safety Shooting classes. My husband or I ALWAYS supervise her when she is shooting.
We talk often about people who would do her harm. She is not paranoid, but she is well informed.

I have 4 children 2 natural children who are 25 and 21 and two adopted children 7 and 11 and one foster son 5! I feel it is necessary to protect my children from as much muck and myer that I can! My kids don't watch alot of tv! We have fun and fun we have...I am SUPER involved in their lives ---big ones too! My daughter [25 year old] teaches dance at a local high school so I support her in her endevours! My son [21] is studing to be a criminal justice major! and I listen to all his essays about things I wouldn't normally care about.....But protection is what you asked and I am explaining that I get involved in their lives! I monitor the TV and Monitor their radio habits....I 'stay' in their Koolaide! My big ones I can only watch from a far since they are grown and all on their own, there is only so much medaling that a mom could do! But for the little ones I believe in total parenting! Be involved! Get to know who they talk to and why! And Monitor but be cool about it offering other solutions for them to spend their time! My Bad, I thought you meant me....yes they know Martial arts....They go to ATA! One Green one yellow one white and the two oldest are 1 and 2nd degree black belts!

Yes,my son is now 14,however its just been he and I since day 1.I myself was really into kick-boxing and started teaching him self-defense at a very young age.(I was kind of worried about not having a male role model,only in this area)so I took it upon myself to make my "boy"a"man"as far as being able to protect himself out there in this world of ours.O.K. I did a great job,he can kick some serious A**,but he is not a bully,he still wants to play wrestle around with me and I tell him to "back off"(cuz just playing he hurts me)He is 6'1 already and real thin,sometimes those tall skinny guys can be very deceiving.

Yes. They have taken martial arts. They have also been told of every danger I know about. Ignorance is shameful and dangerous. I won't settle for less than warning them and arming them. That is my job. (THEN we can have fun)

No, but we talk a ton about common sense, being aware of your surroundings and using your LOUD voice if you feel threatened.
The rest I have to leave up to God, because they really do belong to Him ultimately. I was just blessed with getting to be their mom here and now.

I don't have any but if I do, I would want them to learn some like karate or boxing...Most important I would in courage them not to fight unless they had too..
