How likely it is that the first person was dead for a couple of days and then came back to life, with all the damage of death reversed? Is there perhaps a more plausible explanation?

If the person you meet claims to be the same person who died, will you accept the claim at face value, or will you require some kind of evidence?

I think there was a story in the bible about somebody who claimed to have returned from the dead...

You sound like a doubting Thomas to me. May you keep writing such amusing and witty little analogies, on my visits.

That really is a good one!

It is amusing that whatever you transfer into current tense (miracles and the like) becomes absurd, yet the significance of this seems to be ignored. If I attempted to murder my child because of gods voice in my head, I would be (correctly) sent to a mental institution, yet apply past tense to this propositiona and many feel it gains credibility.

At the funeral home I worked we did 500 funerals a year and only once did I mistake a dead person for a live person.(An identical twin). Setting in the prep room fixing her sisters hair.

the most likely explanation is that you ran into someone who looks like the person who just died recently.

Most likely, you're thinking of the person that died and your brain readily matches what you are thinking of to other's faces.

HE'S THE MESSIAH!!! (must be right!)

haha oh my...it's a coincidence!
there is an equal chance of that happening before and after that person's death.

this section is becoming my favorite one on yahoo answers... it's just so amusing!

Well, I think you would be able to know through close examination. I mean..obviously you're paralleling this with Jesus. Thomas...I -think- it was, stuck his fingers through the holes in Christ' hands. I mean...they hung out with him, day and night, they -KNEW- what he looked like. Even today, people don't hang out with eachother like people did with Jesus, they would've easily spotted if it were someone else.

Of course I would require evidence. Any sensible person would.
