Yes, my suggestion is ask your vet not Yahoo! Answers. You may get an answer on a serious problem like that that may be deadly to your cat. Don't take chances on your pet's health.

Sounds like kitty is allergic. The holistic cat food is a good way to go. Switch to a food without grains. Corn and wheat and rice, especially the first 2 are leading causes of allergies and digestive problems. I switched over to EVO NO GRAIN because every food seemed to have grain in it that could be contaminated with Melamine. I didn't want to chance it and grain isn't really that good for them anyway. Can make them FAT.

No cat has a cold for years. It could be allergies, an upper resp. infection or something worse. Take him to a vet. Do NOT try giving him medicines intended for people.

maybe switch to a high quality holistic food that will increase is over all health that will boost his immune system like Eagle pack Holistic Select duck and oatmeal formula....
