The Car of Tomorrow is great, in concept. I applaud NASCAR for putting so much research into safety. I don't agree that it will cut costs for the teams, though. Until the COT is used exclusively, teams are paying for two fleets of cars, and all of the parts and supplies necessary to maintain those fleets. I have heard the Car of Tomorrow referred to as the "car of overtime," and I can't imagine how the smaller owners are absorbing those costs.

Yes, it should be used full-time next season, in order to give the teams a chance at the cost savings that NASCAR promised the COT would bring, before they are bankrupted by trying to maintain two fleets of cars.

I like the car of tommorrow. I also really like the look of it. It looks sweet. It is also safer for the driver. They COT will be used more next season and will have the complete change over in 09. I appluad all aspects of racing for trying to improve safety. Safier barriers and the car of tomorrow. The reason the big teams win the the COT is they have some of the best drivers. Hendrick and Gibbs have some of the best drivers in Nascar and if it was a $ thing why isn't Roush racing being dominant. Those teams are loaded. The only Roush driver who has been consistent is Kenseth. No one else. The COT still has bugs to work out, but you can bet that it will not go away. Nascar has spent way to much cash to get rid of it.

Well it will eventually save the teams money. That is already known but this year it's costing everyone twice as much more then likely. I think by the end of a few more COT races the drivers and crew will be begging NASCAR to make up their mind and choose a car to use full time. This is the worst year for a new team as they are haivng to develop two cars instead of just one and waiting till they have a little more experience in the racing field before designing and testing a new car. I think that by 2008 it will be in use full time but I really hate to see the old one go and wish they could jsut make the same modifications to the old car instead of the COT as it looks really ugly and it looks really foreign instead of American made. I like the old car better personally but I think the COT is here to stay.

I hate it!!! It is just another way Nascar is making up the rules as they go. It is an ugly car, the front splitter, once it gets hit your pretty much done. Looks like a box on wheels. How much safer is it really? They made the real cars safe since the hans device was mandated. All the teams should boycott the COT and if nascar don't like it they can go back to Winston Cup. Much better then. Nascar is trying to ruin the sport by putting in a IROC repeat. Don't fix it if it's not broken. It is not about the sport anymore, it is all about the almighty dollar, which Nascar is making more than their share, I'm sure. Leave well enough alone.

I think that once they get all the kinks out of the COT, everyone will get used to it like they do any other time that Nascar mandates a car change. YES, they should go ahead and use the COT full-time next year so as all teams can get some built and figure out the bugs in the off season.

Either use the COT full time next year or use the regular car full time. Enough of switching back and forth, its hurting competition and as its proving right now, the team with the most money is going to prevail. Hendrick Motorsports has an upper hand in all of this and will continue to until Jeff, Jimmie, Kyle , and Casey can't get along any more.

You eman the car of Overtime? Hate it, really it is not the best thing NASCAR has ever had. They are pretty much going to have to use it full time next year if the teams are going to have a financial chance. It is too costly to run that many different sets of cars.

If they were told to drive big wheels for the amount of money they earn, I'm sure NASCAR would find a way to make it interesting.
COToday has some tweaking to do, but it IS the COTommorow for racing entertainment. The goal is to win- whatever you are driving...

Well, since they're going to use it then they might as well go full time in '08. It will make it a lot easier for the teams, because they won't have to be switching back and forth. I'm not a fan of it, because my favorite driver's team is relatively far behind, but I think it's necessary for them to make it go full time next year.
