Please stop the ghetto talk. Bipolar doesn't cause that and it makes you sound dumb and I know you aren't dumb.

I don't know why you would be rejected if you have no income. I don't know who you went through. But contact your county's department of social services. They should be able to help you as long as you live in their county.

Try to get your Medicaid started again. Contact your state Medicaid office. They can tell you whether you need a case manager. I think it would be a great idea to have someone pull this all together for you. Good luck.

What you should know

* Bipolar can be treated.
* Medication is key, but it requires the supervision of a professional.

What you should do

* Net out your story so that you can tell it 20-30 seconds. No extra details.

(It would be something like this: I have bipolar disorder. It was diagnosed by ____________. I need medication and counseling. I keep being sent to agencies that are too far away because of the bus transportation. Do I need a case manager?)

* Designate someone you trust to tell you when you're going too high and even too low. When you're involved in an episode, you can't rely on yourself to figure it out. You need that person to tell you to get to treatment. And you need to what s/he says, even if you disagree.)

* You call your city councilman, state representative, or congress person with your short version of your problem. When they ask you questions, make your answers short. Don't add detail that's not needed. Keep in mind what your need is -- medication and counseling nearby -- and don't hang up until you're sure they know what you want.

* Finally, cheer up. You're going to get through all this and once you master the medication and know what to do about the episodes, you're going to be just fine.

If you got an answer of denial from medicaid they must supply u with an answer why. Are you working ? that is the major reason why benefits stop/ go re-apply. Seek a mental health agency such as c star that provide counceling on a group basis. Yes, u can do the long bus ride if ur situation deteorates, be positive look at ur options and do what u must to help urself. The caseworker cannot mend u, u must mend urself. dona

I truly understand what bipolar can do to a person. It is not pleasant.

Have you tried to find out what you have to do to get back on medicaid? Since you qualify for SSI I would think medicaid wouldn't be that much of problem to get on. Please check with your state's social services to see what they can do for you.

No I don't think that SSI have case workers. At least from what I have experienced through Soc Sec benefit system

I know that a number of drug companies do subsidize prescriptions for people who can not afford the drug(s) that they need this might be an option for you..

Id like to give you one piece of advice right off the top no one's going to get that involved with you to straighten up your life.Don't rely on anything from the government to make your life be pleasant. Maybe your getting the SSI on a regular basis but try to get yourself well and work and thats how you'll life will come together.Many people are Bipolar and live normal lifes you sound like your ready for a caretaker at 19yrs old Find a good Dr. and get well! good luck

Go to the other agency. You were probably rejected because you don't have medicaid to pay for their services.
