Luck wise, Casey Mears. (I don't define running bad as unlucky. Waltrip, Mayfield, Jarrett, etc... are running bad. Kahne had bad luck for about 3 races, but is now actually running bad).
Anyway, backing up for Mears's unluckiness:
Pheonix~ wrecked by David Ragan while running top-10 fairly early in the race (he was also wrecked by Ragan in the Pheonix Busch race)
Texas~ wrecked by David Ragan on the 1st lap. (Do you think he is buddies with Ragan? 3 wrecks in 3 races!!)
Martinsville~his sway bar fell off his car on either the 1st or 2nd lap (can't remember)

Etc....

MIchael Waltrip isn't having bad luck- he just sucks. I would say the driver with the bad luck streak would have to be Kasey Kahne. He has been involved in several accidents this year, none of which were his fault. I don't think he finished the first three races, because someone took him out. - Now that is bad luck. Not being able to qualify is a lack of talent.

I don't know that Mikey's problems have anything to do with luck. For the Toyota guys I think Jeremy Mayfield has had the worst luck this year. He's been on the bubble and knocked off a couple of times. His worst luck came at Daytona where he got screwed out of getting in by Marlin lifting at the end of their duel. For drivers that have been in every race I feel like Kasey's teammate Scott riggs has been on the short end of the stick more times than not. He has had mechanical problems and been involved in wrecks that were not his own doing most weeks this year. Scott is a decent driver and did a good job of working his way into the top 20 last year after failing to qualify for the Daytona 500. He is currently not locked into the top 35 in owner's points and Ray Evernham better get his head out of his pie hole soon.

I'd say Kasey Kahne. And to go further with that, ALL of Evernham Motorsports have hit a serious bad luck spell. Kasey goes from winning the most races of all the drivers last year to barely being top 35 in points this year.

If Kasey doesn't improve within the next few races, he might be too far behind to make up ground.

I can name quite a few. Michael Waltrip, Brian Vickers, Casey Mears, AJ Allmendinger, Sterlin Marlin, Dale Jarrett, David Ragan, Regan Smith, David Gilliland, Scott Riggs, J.J. Yeley, Scott Riggs, Kasey Kahne, basically all the Toyotas, David Stemme, Reed Sorenson, but I would have to say probably Michael Waltrip as he is still in the whole since his race infractions at Daytona and dont see him making a ton of races anytime soon.

POS (Michael Waltrip) is a horrible driver who needs to retire and focus on being an owner.

As for bad luck, Kasey Kahne is having a pretty bad year so far. I don't know if that's bad luck though because even before he crashes, he is running in the 20's or 30's. My vote's for JJ Yeley, he can't seem to catch a break.

Michael Waltrip needs to put someone else in the #55 car and focus on running his team. Tony Stewart can only blame himself for not finishing races in first.

Casey Mears has had the most bad luck this season, he has had a good car, but is always getting caught up in other driver's messes.

Dale Jr. Can you say any of those other guys had a car that could win? I don't think so. Just think; here's a guy who has a following similar to Hulk Hogan and he can't catch a break At the end of the day Micheal Waltrip is just not that good. And Casey doesn't have to answer "do you think you'll ever be as good as your dad" questions
