Thats a surprinsingly good question for YAN.

There are many different ways of looking at it.

Firstly, no everyone agrees we have free will, well, to the degree that our lives are predetermined, and we have no course but to follow this route. This is one of the reasons for the Christian reformation. Luther firmly believed in Predetermination (how else would Jesus have known of Judas' plot, etc) , as do most Protestant churches and medhodists, wheras catholics believe Free Will is an absolute.

Thus, **if** we have free will, is that a mistake?
Well, what good is Worship if it is forced?

The only reason, it can be argued, that god wants worship is precisely because we have that free will. That we choose freely to worship god, not because we are forced to, or are robots and programmed to, but because we choose to from the free will granted in grace to us.

I could go on about the contradictions inherent in Free Will only, or the attempt to balance predetermination (Fate) with Free will, but I think that answers the basics of your question?

No mistake. It would not truly be love and worship if it was not freely given. You can't demand to be loved, and if He created us only to worship Him we would be nothing more than mindless robots. It's all about a personal relationship.

All He wants is for us to worship Him?........not. You just don't understand how He loves us.......what He wants is for us to be secure, full of joy, at peace, loving, content, safe, free from the burden of sin, overwhelmed with glory, and with Him for eternity. He wants our love and trust in Him. When we obtain this state, or just a small part of it, our choice is to worship Him. It's something we want to do, not something He demands. He does demand obedience though. Maybe that's what you mean. Just like parents demand obedience from their children, it is the way to keep them secure, safe. yadayadayada............Wish you could just catch a glimpse of the true character of God.....how He loves you & me.

Would it really be worship if you were forced to do it?

Because He wants us to freely worship him. It is not very glorifying if people love you because they are forced, is it?

Woman had no free will in the old testament, but the men did whatever they wanted too.
