How do you get a Jehovah witness to stop comming to your house?

WITHOUT BEING RUDE!!!!

I have talked to them a little but it seems that they come back every week. I even told them I was a blood donor and was changing my religon to Agnostic. Nothing
The bringing out the Bible thing. She asked me to get my Bible.

Frankly, we would rather know that you don't want us to come rather than continuing to come by when we could be calling on someone who WANTS us to.

Hi. If you don't want to talk with us, then just say, I really don't want to talk. Sometimes, it sends a mixed message if someone seems to be/says they are not, interested, and at the same time has a discussion. Case in point, I often talked with a lifegaurd who, considered herself, Atheist, later Agnostic. She probably was a Blood Donor. We still had really nice conversations.

Simply and firmly say, Please do not come back again.

Please know we want to respect your right to decide whether to talk with us or not. More that likely you may still get called on once or twice a year for 3 reasons. One being to see if you still live there, people move quite often (So much so that people were often shocked when they would find out I still lived in my home of 18+ years.) We all, everyone of us, at times has a change of heart. All you will need to do is reafirm you do not wish to talk. Also, though we try to be organised there is a chance of a miscommunication and someone stopping by, once again, politely say no thank you, and move on.

Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)

Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20).

I've simply said that I am not interested. In most cases, I have had little contact after that (unless, at times there are new people that come by, but generally, I have found that the ones I tell I am not interested don't keep coming to my door).

I know other people have had different experiences with religious groups.. Sometimes 'badgering' them, etc.. But for me, that's what has worked.

And.. unless they're being rude.. no need to be rude. Most of the people that will come to your door will be gentlemen and ladies.. not jerks.. :)

The best way to learn what to do to stop JWs is to contact a synagogue and talk to the Rabbi.

Ask him how the ancient Jews got rid of the Christian Jews when they went from house to house telling their brethren that the beliefs, rituals, and holiday observances that they have followed for hundreds of years was no longer valid?

Saul of Tarsus, a highly educated individual in the religious arts, repeatedly proved they were a false religious sect and cult, creating their own scriptures (Bible) instead of relying on the Holy Torah, which had been used by the Jews for hundreds of years. Saul often stood by as the true believers of God stoned these so-called Christians for their door to door activities and spreading of false doctrine.

Now, I would not recommend stoning, but they may have had other methods that worked to stop the house to house work and the spreading of false doctrine . What worked for them against the Christian cult may work against the JWs. At least you will be in good company in doing so.

Tell them that you would like to pray for them and then if they except make a very long prayer (the longest you can ever make) and like that you will be blessing them and at the same time would make them realy not want to come back (especialy after you start saying by the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Trust me it works for there is a pastor that is a friend of mine who has done it so many times and has gotten two results either 1 they never come back (this in most cases) or two they give their life to Jesus Christ.

Usually the same people are not knocking on the same doors, so asking them not to come won't work. They pick the most inconvienient time to come and let me tell you from experience, trying to be nice doesn't work. I have said "Thank you for stopping by, but I have my own faith" to which they ask "what denomination are you" and you tell them, and they berade you and insult whatever your faith is. So, there isn't any learning experience going on. They didn't mind at all being rude to me. So I have decided, just because someone rings my doorbell doesn't mean I have to answer. Don't answer the door anymore.

You almost have to get rude to keep them from bothering you. One thing you might try is I told them they would have to sit and listen to me talk as long as they talked and they didn't like that idea. Then another day they caught me watering my flowers outside and after politely asking them to get off my property which they wouldn't do I had to turn the hose on them, that was when they left me alone and to tell you the truth to get peace I would probably handle the situation the same way...they would not take no for an answer.

Tell them that you mean them no disrespect, but you would prefer that they do not contact you ever again. You are simply not interested in talking with them.

Legally if you say this to them 3 times and they refuse, then you can contact the police for trespassing (if they are coming to your door of your home).
