I do not believe so, as long as you are willing to re-evaluate your prejudices periodically.
To use something non-controversial from my own life I talk about food. I have prejudices against certain foods. However, just because I bear prejudice against food X does not mean I never ever eat food X. I try it every now and then (once a year or so) and I find there are foods I used to detest I have come to like.
Now, if I refused to consider trying those foods I would never have known I had grown to like them.
The difference between bigots and everyone else is the act of reconsidering.

Having prejudices and learning from them will help you grow- If you blindly believe stereotypes and don't get out there and experience different things then you may have those beliefs all your life but once you go outside your comfort zone and meet the people you have hate for- you usually learn that people are all the same and have similar hopes and dreams.

from growing as a person? I think so, yes. I think the more accepting we are, the more we open our eyes, and the more compassionate we are then the more we are open to new things. I feel that those with less prejudices have a better handle on life and a more enriched life because of it.
