Looked for several qualities (now married 8 years):
1) Intelligence - you can't fake that.
2) Humor - life is too short to go without it.
3) Education - I wanted someone who would make something of themselves;
4) Looks - Yes, I wanted someone who looked good. Not talking supermodel here, but someone who took care of themselves and looks pretty.
5) Tenacity - Someone who would be able to go through almost anything without quitting - marriage is hard, no matter who you are, and that tenacity will help you stay married.
Some of my friends have problems finding the right people to date, much less marry. I always ask them where they meet their dates. Most respond "Bars, Clubs". Is that where you really want to meet people? How about other areas, like social or hobby clubs, in the dog park, etc...

There are lots of different things that guys look for, however they are different for each guy. Why do you think there is anything wrong with you, it might just be that you haven't found the right person.
Don't discount looks, men are visually stimulated. That is the way men are wired and will every time take that into consideration. In fact, that is usually one of the top things men consider when looking for a girlfriend. If you can't get to girlfriend stage, then forget about the wife one.

Ok Trisha and Yaya believe it or not, not every guy goes for looks. I always look for girls who smile allot and are not serious all the time. I like the positive vibe around me you know.

Personally, I think self-confidence, a sense of humor, honesty, loyalty, a degree of intelligence (doesn't have to be Einstein) and motivation are all key.

For me, intelligence, to the virtual exclusion of anything else. I joined Mensa for the explicit purpose of finding a smart significant other. Score!

well. the whole "she has to cook " thing is out dated. but i would prefer someone who laughes at my crappy jokes. and who is ther for me when i need them most. and someone who would exept help from me even though she doesnt admit that she wants it. in short- i want someone who would rather spend time with me than anybody else
