How will the fundies from all religons react? How will the religious average joe react?
Would this spring up a completely different religon?

1) The race would be on to convert the poor Godless aliens.
2) The average joe wouldn't bother.
3) The aliens might try to impose their religion, but would fail.

At least I can say with 100% surity that nothing will happen to ISLAM.

I like EnviroDude's answer. What if the aliens knew of Jesus Christ? There are already religions that believe in other inhabited worlds. What if they were looking for L. Ron Hubbard.

Why have you marked Catholicism distinct from Christianity?
There is nothing in either religion that would be broen by the presence of extra-terrestrial life.

I personally aren't a fundie of any religion.
And I don't believe in aliens either. Though who do are "fundies" of their own sort.

A lot of people would probably reject their religion while others would find a way to explain it within their religion. I really don't know how I would react.

They would say god made the aliens to test his followers' faith. Or some excuse, same as they say whenever more evidence is discovered for evolution.

No. The christians would try to convert them and the muslims would declare holy war against them.
They'd eventually get fed up and leave.

What if the aliens told you that Jesus was the only way to Heaven? Would you believe them or not?
