voiced about their religion and it's bad historical past?....I received a "violation" for expressing my own personal experiences with the Mormon religion, which was TRUE, yet my answer was deleted because of what I said. Should "truth" be restrained by some who feel it is offensive?, and if so, how is anyone to change the fallacies wihin religions so everyone can benefit?

The truth is often painful - and most don't want to look at it because then they would have to deal with it.
The fallacies of religion will never be changed - only individual people can change and change can only benefit those that accept it.

Religion will get anyone worked up, usually in the definition of "truth". Mormonism suffers from a lot of bad publicity, mainly in it's older teachings that they simply want to 'go away and not discuss it'. It's the past that catches up to you sooner or later.
But that's not the point. I agree that no one should be "banned" for expressing an opinion of what is "right and true". But, as an LDS on the internet, you will be subject to not only other points of view, but other individuals who fiercely feel you are seriously mislead. The church cannot insulate you from the wealth of history and doctrine that remains apart of mormon culture (either consciously or not) while you post your 'testimony' here.
Be prepared to defend it with facts, not feelings. Know your history inside out, and if you feel it's in jeopardy, defend it. If you feel it's just dandy fine, you will be subject to every sort of criticism imaginable.
I look forward to 'trading ideas' with you. I don't intend to be very kind (to the church, not individual), but I will try to be honest and not (very) rude.
It'll be fun and hopefully insightful.

The truth is relative to whom you are speaking.
Your truth may not necessarily be mine. There are dozens of trolls on here claiming to have the "truth" about my religion, but I know that it's a pack of lies to mislead people and give us a bad name.
I'm not lumping you into that category (and I'm not Mormon) but I am saying that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. If you have a genuine message you want to convey out of kindness, not vengeance or retaliation, be respectful and polite about it, and you may actually get a few takers.

The "truth" aka expressing YOUR opinion on a matter, would not violate yahoo Q&A's terms, what the violation would have been for is racist, rude, or sexually explicit content. Good luck being tactful in the future!

I do not believe that anyone should get reported because they believe or not believe something- I feel they should be reported when there are racial slurs, offensive language etc. People are "insulted" when they hear the truth because they do not want to face it. However, one thing I want to make clear hear- there are absolute truths and relative truth- let us not confuse the two.

Perhaps it was only true in your humble opinion? It's been my experience that too many ex-mormons tend to get things mixed up, as far as church history and doctrine are concerned.
