“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.”

I think it was 1999 I seem to remember I was on HWY 5 heading south from Seattle and I heard on the radio about a group of men who tried a man behind a truck and drove of dragging him along until he died and there was not limb still attached. I stopped breathing and have not taken a decent breath since.

Hiking into the Olympic Mountains (NW Washington) in August, laying on my back in a mountain meadow counting the black dots in the sky. Had to count the black dots because the stars were so thick.

Being a west coast boy I'm used to seeing the sun go down into the ocean, remember being on the Outer Banks of Carolina getting up early to watch the sun come UP over the ocean.

Being outside at night during a gentle snowfall - silence you feel broken by the sound of the snowflakes landing.

Catching one daughter as she was born (in the bathroom door - homebirth that happened differently than planned.

Many more - thanks for bringing them up

the guy who's now my husband actually took my breath away as quickly as we first have been given at the same time. i did no longer certainly have any breath left after giving delivery to our son, yet that first easy, at 10 to 7 on October thirteenth 1984, and that 2d whilst John opened his eyes to look at us and the international he had entered, replaced into chic. Our first glimpse into the crater of Haleakala, on the island of Maui, replaced into yet another breathtaking 2d - as replaced into the sight of the Cullin's on the Isle of Skye as quickly as we went there this summer time. Oh, sure you're so appropriate - life is unquestionably measured by making use of the moments that take our breath away! P.S. Congratulations to Tudor Rose, above, and S.T.

Used to pole vault in High School. The last jump of my junior year, I missed the mat (after clearing the bar), landed on blacktop on my back. Three doctors wanted to operate, but my dad didn't let them thank God! Stayed in bed a week, then went to a chiropractor. The next year was I ever gun-shy to start off!

Moments that use to take my breath away was my Grandmother she passed and memories of her still take my breath away...Seeing beautiful people like someone I have a crush on...and seeing SMILES of people that don't usually SMILE...haha just kidding about the smiles but it is a pleasure to see smiles of people because usually it means they are happy and not going to get angry and try to mess up someone elses day...SMILE

I love that quote too!

I think it was when I said my wedding vows to my husband. To be there marrying him in front of everyone we love, devoting ourselves to each other forever. . . it still makes me tear up!

:0)

I can't wait until we have children! I can't imagine anything more spectacular than seeing your own miracle of life in the flesh for the first time :D
