I don't get offended by your replies humor is a gift from God.Do you seriously think none of us has been where you are? some of us were and didn't even know it. When the time comes we all die for thats inevitable, we all will see what was true and what wasn't. The difference is we will have lost nothing if we were wrong can you say the same. If you were right you can say "i told you so." and we can all have a good laugh. But... what if we are right... fine for us but what about you? None of us will be laughing and none of us will be saying" i told you so." What is really keeping you from God? Surely not God His arms are open and waiting for you to give Him permission. God doesn't do B&E's.

I don't believe in it because its based on fear and clear manipulation , your taught that god loves you , died for you , would do anything for you , forgives you for anything , but if you do wrong you get sent to hell { did I miss something ? } I thought he forgives me and loves me and would do anything so why would he send me to hell , o I get it I guess it was in " his " eyes that I did bad , so how am I supposed to know if whatever I do is bad in " his " eyes ? wait I don't .

Here's how I see it. You are regulating your ENTIRE life on faith. Every move you make is more or less dictated by faith. You do or not do things because of your religion of a god. BY DEFINITION, religion is faith - people call their religion a faith. Now what does faith mean? It means hope. It means there is no evidence of your religion - so you use faith to believe in it. You HOPE it's true.
Just because you hope something is true does not mean it is true. I can have faith the Tooth Fairy is true, but no matter hard I try and hope he is real will not make him real.
Your argument of you not losing anything if god is not real is the most ridiculous and blind thing I've ever heard in my life.
You are on earth ONLY 1 TIME. If you base your actions on something that you hope to be true, you lose out on basing your life on the fact that it isn't true. Now, what are the odds that it is true? The odds are very slim, indeed. If there was just 1 shred of evidence of god existing, your odds would improve a million times. But the fact is that there just isn't any proof. NONE. You are doing the same thing as if my neighbor based his entire life with the hope that Smorgfk, the Gentle Grokbslih exists. That's how far out of reality you seem to me.
Don't think your religion has the subject of spirituality sewn up. The fact of the matter is, even though I do not believe in a god, I am a very spiritual person. And I have no ambition of saying, "I told you so". You want a laugh? How's this;
Believer to non-believer: "You remind me of a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat."
Non-believer to believer: "And you remind me of a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there in the first place."

Well look, if you're new as you say, then the first thing you need to realise is that there's more to religion than Christianity. Shocking, horrible, unbelievable, but true. Work on that to start with, then we'll talk.

The people here are so rude it's ridiculous...i noticed someone talking about monkies earlier...well in my opinion they are not much more mature than "monkies" they are incapable of carrying on an intelligent conversation. Swapping beliefs etc. w/o being pig headed. It's sad

Because religion is morally abhorrent and has caused endless and horrific amounts of murder, rape, torture, etc. and still continues to be the biggest stumbling block facing our species. It what hold us back from living in harmony with each other and our environment. It causes hatred, prejudice, enslavement, and oppression. That's why.

I've been where YOU are.
I was a christian for 3 years of my teenage/adult life. It was the biggest waste of time and brain cells ever. (Worse than my past drug use.)
