1) It's a bit early for drinking games, don't you think?
2) Technically, it's supposed to be a Christian who asks the Pascal's Wager question, so you're breaking the rules.
What the heck, it's been a long day, and rules are meant to be broken.

Do you just want to know what it is? This is my first time here. The "wager" was his way of covering his bases, as it were. If you buy into God and religion, and then you die and there isn't a God, what have you lost? If you don't go along with religion, then you die and there is a God, you could end up toasted. That is maybe a bit oversimplified, but it is correct.

Much of the humour and creativity in this game has been brilliant. If there were folks like you at the local, I might actually go out for a pint, knowing I'd have interesting people to talk with.
Add that to the reasons why I stop by R&S -- where else can you find a gathering of intelligent, informed, articulate atheists?

Pascal was a brilliant man: he was a philosopher, a theologian, and a scientist. Very little of his work had to do with the consumption of alcoholic beverages. =P
