I just had tonsillitus In October/November of last year and now I have it again. It isn't as bad this time, but it's only been going on for two days. Do I need to see the doctor again? Can one of those quick clinic things diagnose tonsillitus? My doctor's practice just went out of business and I haven't switched to a new doctor.

Also, I am immune to almost all antibiotics, so I'm not sure if I should get on them again right away, but as far as I know it's the only treatment for tonsillitus.

You definitely need to see a doctor ASAP. The sooner you catch it, the easier it is to get rid of it.

ANY clinic can diagnosis tonsillitis.

The thing with your being immune to antibiotics...Sucks to be you, eh? If you've had it a lot in the past, is it time to see a surgeon?

Good luck!

Before I had my tonsils removed, I used to get tonsilitis at least four times a year and it would last over two weeks at a time. Bacterial causes can be treated with antibiotics, but viral causes has to be treated with vitamins (mostly C). I always had a fever with the episodes, and could barely talk with some.
Find a good doctor. One that is willing to help you when you talk to them. Chances are you will be tested for strep throat first on each visit (it helps rule that out). But after the test your doctor can tell you how each episode can be treated. My tonsils were taken out in 2005 (1999 was my first case, and I was too stuborn to have them removed before because i hate surgery), and the biopsey showed that there was a permanent infection surrounded by scar tissue (nothing could reach it to clear it out). I havent been sick (except for common cold) since.
Things that caused my flareups were: stress, common cold, over exertion, poor sleep, poor diet, and so on.
Consider this: if you think that the tonsils will keep doing this-dont wait, talk to a doctor about having them removed- the sugery hurts way less that the episodes.

I doubt very a lot no remember if it somewhat is tonsillitis - with the aid of the sound of it it somewhat is probably a migraine, if it have been tonsillitis you will possibly have a severe throat an infection that's unmistakable, yet I do concede that i'm no wellbeing care expert and you do have the excellent to declare "What the hell do you understand!" so I recommend that till now you eat all the painkillers flow to verify a actual wellbeing care expert. with the aid of the way in case you do have a sore throat, try licking ice-cream which will soothe it. perfect desires!
