I heard about a program where you can get one book a month for your child for free till they turn 5. Anyone heard about this and know where I can go to sign up for my daughter?

Thank you for everyone who answered so quickly. For those of you who wondered about this too go to www.dollysimaginationlibrary.com
Click to enroll your child and after putting in the town you live in they will tell you if its available in your area. I live in a small community in Iowa and even they offer it so good luck to anyone who tries. Thank you again.

The only ones I know about are kinda scams. If you read the fine print, you agree to purchase tons of books before they give you the free ones..... Good Luck... If you find something else legitimate, let me know!
Could someone who know about this email me? Thanks! My 16 month old LOVES books!

Dolly Parton has a program called Imagination Library where you get a book a month until your child turns five. My hospital's maternity ward supplied me with the application, but I am pretty positive you can go to her web site and submit an application. Also, contact your local library. Many of them have this program as well.

yes the above answers are right. It is through Dolly Partons Imagination Library. It has spread to a lot of other states but not all so you have to check it out. I believe the web site is www.imaginationlibrary.com and I signed up on-line so it can be done. They are great books and you can sign up each of your children so they will get their own book.

It's true. It's funded by Dolly Parton actually. She pays for the books to be distributed through the United Way. Your local United Way program will have these books. We get them monthly and they're great! They're even often times bilingual books. You can contact your local United Way or visit the following web-site. Often times, your local ECFE program will have sign-up sheets as well.

I have to say that I didn't know the answer to your question, but clicked on it to see if there were any answers. I found the link that was posted by one of the people that answered and clicked on it. I was pleasantly surprised about the information that I read, signed my daughter up right away and am very excited to see how this goes. Thanks so much for posting the question!

Yes, my child is involved in this program! I believe it is throught the Dolly Parton Foundation, your local parents as teachers group should be able to get you involved! It is not a scam, and its not only in specific states I live in MO.

Dolly Parton's Immagination Library! Don't listen to all of those who are saying it is only in Tennessee because it has spread to other states and Canada.
