i dont have any smoking aids, i am going cold turkey the hardest way. got any tips for me, what kind of food can help the cravings?

thanks allot, actualy i have suger free gum, you know that new gum Trident? its really fruity and helps me allot, but i am going thorugh so many packs lol but at least its cheaper than smoking lol

get some gum and lots of it you have to replace it for something. this helped me

Get a drinks of water. Walk, deep breathing fresh air.
Think of why you want to quit - something you want more? Keep your focus on the benefits of changing your lifestyle. Do you keep an unopened pack in your pocket? You can't light one without thinking because you'd have to open the pack first, and when you find yourself starting to, think - Am I going to stop this, or do I can't do it. I'm stronger, and put it off again. (That way you don't feel like you're out and have to get to the store.)
*Consider the extra money you'll have and plan how to reward yourself.
*Think of the smokers who have to slip outside or to a small area designated for it and smoke alone, or at least not by the majority of people in the office; you're not an outcast any more.
*Smell that ashtray, and be glad you won't smell like that any more.
* Be glad you're fitting in with non-smokers now.
* Find a picture of a smoker's lungs (black and unpleasant-looking) as compared to a healthy lung, which is pink.
* Consider how much better you'll be able to breath, allowing better air to the lungs, and as they improve, they'll be better able to absorb the oxygen and transfer it to the blood that delivers oxygen to the rest of your body, thus making everything work better.
*Be shocked at how much extra time you seem to have. You're not near as busy when your not trying to handle a cigarette while you do other things! Freedom!

Clean your teeth as often as poss, carry a tub of chopped fresh fruit to eat when craving.You need to keep the taste of "tar" out of your mouth, so sugar free chewing gum is good, you are doing GREAT, well done, keep it up, and think how much fresher your breath and clothes will smell for the extra 20 years you will live through not smoking,good luck.

Don't eat more you'll just get fat. and that's not healthy.....I Quit clod Turkey and all I do for the craving it just go for a walk and just think about life and what you can do to improve something. That's just what I do and it does seem to work on a lot of people.......people that say gum or sun flower seeds work don''t believe them cuz it doesn't!!!!!!!

You have a pattern in your life and it needs to be replaced with a healthy habit.. My daughter replaced her smoking habit by lighting candles.

if you don't want to lite candles maybe you can light your match and blow it out and go do something to replace your smoking habit. Maybe doing yahoo Answers will be what you need or maybe a walk about the block will do

Good for you! Drink a lot of water, chew or suck on something,:toothpick hard candy or gum. Change your routines, especially places where you smoke. If you drink alcoholic beverages or coffee, switch to something else for a while. I hope others add more Go for it!!

GOOD for you!!!! I have been told that suckers are suppose to help .... because smoking is habit and having one in your hand is one of the biggest parts of the habit..... Also menthol cough drops are a life saver!!!! Good luck and I hope this helps!!!!
