i'm looking for a trainer that can help me prepare and build muscles to play for tennis. and along the way shed some pounds? what kind of trainer is that?

a personal trainer works with you alone, either in a gym or in your home. that's essentially a fitness trainer, too. you might want to talk to a tennis pro to ask what exercises would be most beneficial.

I think both of those would be a great help. But, if you don't want to be around alot of people while you are working out , you may want to work one on one with someone then a personal fitness trainer would be the best.
