Sometimes when my dog gets with other dogs (usually females) he behaves very well. But when he gets with other male dogs, especially ones that are head strong, he fights with them. How can I stop this behavior?

simply socialize him more and be stricked in discipline and let him no who is boss, but be careful to watch your dog look for things like bearing of teeth raising of hair or just certain looks your dog will give when you see these signs correct your dog and pet the other dog to let your dog know that it is not a threat and I would suggest using a butterfly collar or a "choker"chain and when your dog shows aggression simply give the leash a quick tug and after a while your dog should learn to behave around other male dogs

yes, that's right. dominance. nothing to add from the first answer. it's an alpha dog complex, not unusual in male dogs.

Is he fixed? Have your dog neutered (which you should do anyway), and that may solve the problem. If not, then about all you can do is keep him away from other male dogs.

You can't they are showing dominance. I have a two year old daushand and he is the same way. But it's because he is being proctective over you. Don't worry. Bu I know he won't stop.....Good luck
