Last year, I was the maid of honor in my friend's wedding. Now this year, I have no idea what to get them for their anniversary. They are the type of couple that has EVERYTHING! Please give me some ideas!

Do they have something that particularly like doing? My husband is getting tickets to a sporting event--probably a football game.

We love camping so anything camping, outdoorsy related would be great.

What is "them", what activities signify that they are a couple? Are they more sit at home and watch movies? Or more go out to funky art shows?

I've gotten a friend a book that mapped some great scenic routes (he had a new motorcycle) or hiking trails on the east coast.

Really I agree with the other poster--most time the couple just exchanges gifts and outside people don't get them anniversary gifts.

You are a close friend though so I'd get them something that is more unique to you--something that you know they love that maybe is brand new (a new hobby or interest) and therefore not everyone else knows about it yet.

1 Year Anniversary Gift Ideas

As has been said, the one year anniversary is traditionally the Paper Anniversary. So a nice card would qualify. A small piece of artwork you believe they would like might also be appropriate. If they are readers, books might also be a good gift.

The more modern one year anniversary is the Clock Anniversary. New watches or a small decorative wall clock (perhaps with the explanation that the one year anniversary is the Clock Anniversary) might also be a good gift.

You could also search on Google, there are lots of sites that carry odd gifts for those people who have everything normal you could think of. One such site is in the "source" below.

I have never heard of outside people giving an anniversary gift to the couple. In my culture, the wife and husband exchange gifts with each other only. A nice card would be lovely to send them.

I would definitely send no more than a card.. and only do that because you were maid of honour. Unless you are wealthy do you really want to start another gift giving occasion? It's sweet of you to remember them but as you said they have everything already!

they are already married and you gave them a gift then. an anniversary gift isn't necessary for the anniversary just a small card

Well the traditional one year anniversary gift is paper - if they haven't received one already, you could have their wedding invitation framed.

More modern 1st year gifts have been clocks.

a collectable gift, like a plant... a cactus? u know the cute little ones, u can get that every year as a gift, write the year down and stick it on the pot of the cactus... this will show u how long and how many years u have been together... i saw that in a drama, its kinda romantic

a nice bottle of wine or champagne (if you can remember what kind they had at their wedding, that would be cool). my friend got me a candle for my one year, and i loved it because she was the only one that remembered it was my anniversary.
