Source: Iraq did not do 9-11....Iraq no threat to the USA...No WMD...70% of Americans are against the Iraq war. ( Novernber election...Remember?) The Iraq war will end up like the worthless war called Vietnam. The troops have died and been wounded for nothing.

Boo hoo hoo. The only way they die for nothing is if they're fighting for you and your worthless opinion. Saddam was a ruthless dictator who killed and tortured thousands of his own people and broke many sanctions set up by the UN. The dictator was just waiting for an oppurtunity to cause real harm and with the leaders of Al-Queda fleaing to Iraq it was just a matter of time.

War these days is no longer a war but a circus spectacle.
Just because you follow the news doesn't you mean you actually understand what is taking place or its political ramifications. So it is better to keep your opinions to yourself instead of trying to impose them on others.
For example, it probably never crossed your mind that if the US loses the war in Iraq the US will lose a whole lot of credibility.
The world will think that a handful of Iraqi insurgents will have beat the single most powerful military force in the world, when in fact the US lost because of the American people who protested against the war.
If you were a terrorist, would that encourage or discourage you to try to commit another act of terrorism? Not only that but terrorists would also believe that they would be able to get away with it.
Regardless of why there are US troops in Iraq, since they are there already, would it not be the decent thing to support them as best as one can?

But if still don't think so, then I see absolutely no reason why the US military should have to protect you in case of a war?

Unfortunately, you may be right.

However, you're part of the problem. It's people like you who have been referring to the war as "another Vietnam" since the invasion. The soldiers don't get to pick their wars and unfortunately, our leaders make bad choices sometimes. However, the time to speak up was BEFORE the war started. After the first shot is fired, you're just demoralizing the troops.

So, thanks for that. I'm sure all the families who lost loved ones appreciate you people keeping your mouths shut about the war until it was too late.

You know it is people like you that put those idiots in congress and the senate. Iraq was a haven for terrorist, and now terrorist are trying to get the country back that the Americans took from them. If you pull our troops out of Iraq without securing the country first, it would be like shooting each one of them as they got on the plane. I think your the type of person that would also spit on one of our troops - won't you? Why don't you move to Iran!

Why is it if you bleed and die in the Iraq war you die for nothing?

The sacrifice of a soldier for his country is rarely for nothing. Sometimes, it's for something that had only momentary value - holding a hill or capturing a causeway, for instance, may be very important at the time, but, once the war's over, no one will claim that hill, and the causeway will be open for anyone to use. Even if you die fighting for a lost cause, your sacrifice may mean something.

The only time it's really for nothing would be if you bled and died for your country, and your leaders took whatever your sacrifice had gained and just threw it away.

Iraq, is shaping up to be such a situation, just as Vietnam turned out to be.

maybe iraq didnt do 9-11 but it still happened because of terrorists and major terrorist groups still control places in the middle east, including Iraq. Its people like you who dont know what they're talking about that turn all the facts inside out.

Pardon me, please. Are you related to Harry Reid, maybe? Or do you just write his press statements?

If you're too timid (there's a better word, actually) to pull your fair share of the load, then just say so and leave the job of defending America to the red-blooded brave ones among us who have, are, and will. But when the job is done, don't expect any kudos from us, those who serve. Maybe Jane Fonda and Michael Moore will give you a medal. Do you think so?

P.S.: Erudite was in the military? I don't want to seem rude, but as another answer stated, that's a bit hard to believe.

I see that you never put a uniform on in your life. And if you had our troops fight not for them but for each other. we fight for our survival over there and your comments really offend me. I would love to meet you face to face. Freedom sacrifice that's what we bring to them and yet you are yelling for nothing.
