Valium is commonly used for anxiety. You can probably find a physician to prescribe it too.
However, it is also very addictive and easily abused.
You're better off using it short-term, and dealing with the issues that make you anxious...and then getting off the stuff.
Good luck!

I have taken it before. I became addicted to it and I did not abuse it. Valium (diazepam) just like all the other benzodiazepine tranquillisers and sleeping pills stop working after a few weeks or months and the only symptoms it suppresses after that are withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia and symptoms you have never heard of. Don't mess with it.
Read this if you want to educate yourself. It is by a professor of psychiatry and psychopharmacology http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/
They are hell to come off and it can take months and months to wean off of it and the withdrawals go on for months and months. I aint exagerating. Been there done it and worn the T-shirt.
Good luck

Valium is excellant for anxiety. You don't see it prescribed as much these days as there are better meds out there that do not have such sedating effects like valium but yes it is good for anxiety.

valium is a heavy duty sedative, and it isn't generally recommended for anxiety. For that there are drugs called anxiolitics, Xanax and Buspar are two that come to mind, but there are many. If you feel you need one, talk to your doctor.

I took one the night my son was killed in 1988. It helped somewhat. I took another one the day he was buried, but that was it. If you need to take it, let your doctor decide.
