The question is where do you live? Different birds eat different things.

If you live in Australia.... I used to put out apple, honeyed bread mix on plates and throw some of it up into the air so they could see if from a distance (that was the toos and lorikeets). That worked pretty well. For the kookaburas I offered minced meat.

If you live in the U.S. you might have different kinds of exotic birds to deal with.

I do feed birds a lot. In the area I live it is mostly song birds. I suggest you get a book about exotic birds. Or go on line. This will give you info to attract exotic birds.

What kind of birds you talking about? The two legged kind, then you need a rock band.

For the winged kind, research the types of foods the birds you want like to eat. Then put those out for them.

Oriels for instance like fruit, cardinals like safflower, gold finch likes thistle.
