Why are there no more nuns?

Years ago, you would see them everywhere, now if you do see one, they are old. Are convents going to be up for rent?

there are fewer nuns today than that day before the new media opened up about the priest and their sexual preferences.
i believe that if i stay a nun, that the father will choose my sexiness over a little boy.

It's primarily because of the way in which the Roman Catholic Church looks down upon women as being subordinate to men. In most orders, nuns have had to fend for themselves, they are lucky to be able to purchase a small van for transportation, and they are not allowed to fully participate at the altar in the communion ceremonies. Whereas the priests often have Cadillacs, Lincolns or Lexus automobiles to drive around in, they often live in sumptuous rectories, a large home that is often tended to by women; and their word is law over the nuns. There was a case several years ago in the western end of the San Fernando Valley in California where some elderly cloistered nuns were practicaly starving to death because the church was not allowing them enough of a stipend to meet their needs. Most spiritually-minded women today justifiably do not want to live a life in such sexist subservience. Women should have full participation in religious ceremonies and teachings.

There are many of those still here, but they are secretly undercover because todays nuns are modern. You needn't disbelieve, you must have faith in the sisters of the lord, the nuns who may be sitting next to you on a bus, or a nun may be that mechanic changing the oil on your junky vehicle, or, it may be a nun who is keeping eye on you just in case you break the law. So, there are more nuns now than before except now they are all secretly underground.

There are still plenty of nuns around. Some don't wear the habit any more though. The convents that are empty have been sold mostly.

There are stll Nuns, most of them dress in ordinary clothes now a days except the Sisters of Nazareth who still wear the Habits

Interesting that you should say that, because I just read an article in the local paper about how there are more young women today who are becoming nuns. Maybe they are looking for purpose in life.

Maybe they finally realized that Jesus already took a wife, and they shouldn't waste their lives waiting around for him when they could have had a family, and a life much enriched by it. They could of raised them to be good persons and the Lord would of helped them do it, and she could have fulfilled her role more acurately. Thats only what I think though.
