I have never been to a taping of his show, but I have been to several of his lectures/demonstrations. I truly believe him to be one of the greatest living mediums.

To be honest, the one I liked the most was the one before his first TV show hit the air. They had taped some (he told us stories about it), but they hadn't aired yet. He was amazingly accurate, as he often is, but he seemed to spend longer times with each person, giving them more information--much of which was SO specific and so personal it would be impossible to fit anyone else. Also, as usual, he was both funny and touching, but there seemed to be a bit less pressure on him that day, and the readings were simply extraordinary. The crowd was still very large, but he went on for hours and years later I could sit here and type stories of some of the readings. That is how amazing they are.

I personally don't like the much larger one's now with thousands not hundreds of folks. He's still been very good, but I guess there's such an energy of desperation in the room from folks hoping for a reading that seems to be the main feeling. But what is he to do? I understand he wants to let the folks who want to see him have the opportunity, he could charge MUCH more than he does, and I think he's trying his best.

As to finding out, if you check his web site http://johnedward.net/, his schedule is posted regularly. There also was a Google group that was very informative. I would assume it's still there, but I haven't been there in a few years, but they always had breaking info.

I also had another resource, as I went to a Spiritualist church, so we were alway up on the "happenings." It amazes me how many folks have never heard of Spiritualism, and are unaware that odds are very good that there is one within driving distance of most folks where there are very talented Mediums doing free readings every Sunday and affordable private ones and many affordable events throughout the entire year. Generally now I prefer to take what I would spend on a John Edward ticket and go have a private reading with very good medium. Now are they as good as him---no. But suprisingly many are close. And actually the church hosts visiting mediums from around the world and there are some in England who are extraordinary. And one gentleman who came once from Scotland was actually the same caliber as John and it was amazing.

I also think that private readings are different, and while it may take a bit longer to get the info and there are many different styles, etc, Im not sure it's fair to say they aren't as good as long as they get the accurate info and prove a connection is made. I think of it like different singers. Maybe John is Pavarotti, but it's not so bad to go hear Josh Groban is it? (substitute any names of your choice of singers you like lol).

I've never been read by John, but know folks who were and they were thrilled with the info they got. I'll have to remain very happy with the excellent mediums that I was able to get to see, and I feel very blessed to have gotten such detailed info that I very much needed then.

PS...a couple of the mediums that read me are part of the few that work with John, and now most are pretty well known in their own right. I'm tempted to tell a few stories, like when John did what he says he seldom does and called one of my friends up on stage--but this is already soo long and not sure if you are interested since it isn't what you asked. Feel free to email if you want any more details!

PPS sorry I MUST respond to this. As I was writing my very long reply lol, I see that folks are pulling out the bible card and I very much would like to clarify this, since clearly folks keep spreading the same WRONG BELIEFS. The bible warns against Mediums. In biblical times the word medium stood for a person who we would call a psychic. It was NOT a person who communicated with the dead. As a matter of fact if anyone researches it, you will find many Saints were cannonized for their ability to talk to the dead, and Jesus himself was a medium. I really wish folks would educate themself on this before using it as excuse, because it's just not true! And I'd love to know if any of the people who announce it is all a fake with such certainty have ever had a reading themselves with a legitimate medium?? I'd be willing to bet cash the answer is no.

It's fake, entirely.
When even Southpark can demonstrate exactly how he does what he does, you know he's gotta be full of ****.
