I say that the #4 team will have a different driver by 2008 along with the #84 team. I also think Jermery Mayfield will be out of the #36 car before the end of the year. other teams that might have new drivers for the 2008 season or by years end i say are #10 scott Riggs is have a really bad season and Everhamn needs to make big changes with all of his teams. I"m a big kasey Kahne fan and really hoped he would be a top 5 driver this year. I also dont think Ryan Newman will be in that #12 car much longer maybe the rest of this season and maybe next season but thats it inless him and that team get it together. Also i dont think Rudd will lost long in that #88 car which sucks i had thought he would be doing better then 30th in points. Also i belive Kyle Pretty will either retire after this season or next season. Sterling Marlin and Joe Nemechek contracts are up after this season i wouldnt be surpised if Marlin isnt back in the #14 car. I also wouldn tbe surpised if MW lose sponsorshi soon

theres rumors that MW has to pay Napa $3,500 per race he missies. He has missed 7 races so far this season so thats $24,500 so far.If mw dosnt make any of the races left that Total will be $122,.500 that will be a big lost to MW and his team.

sorry not its not $3,500 a races its $300,000 a races so as of right not it would be a total of $2,100,000 if Mw didnt make any of the remaining races that total would be $10,500,000

I think that the #6 team at Roush Fenway Racing might be doing a driver change because all David Ragan has been doing is wrecking. They should not have moved him into the Cup series so quickly, I don't even think that he has done a complete season in the Busch series yet.

I think that Toyota needs to make some serious improvements to their organization. Michael Waltrip isn't making races and probably will be out, Dale Jarrett isn't helping much either. AJ Allmendinger and Brian Vickers are going to have to kick it up a notch if they want to keep their jobs until their contracts end, and Sterlin Marlin, Kyle Petty, Robby Gordon, Jeremy Mayfield, Ward Burton, and a few other drivers are really struggling. Casey Mears has some of the best equipment so he needs to work on that but I think Hendrick will keep him, but Reed Sorenson you never hear anything about, or David Stremme, and J.J. Yeley is having a rough year as well. Scott Riggs I thought would have a better season as well as I thought Kasey Kahne would have the same season as last year. David Gilliland started out as a good driver and has slowly faded away along with David Ragan, and Regan Smith, who is driving part time. Their are so many options and possibilities but more hten likely the Toyotas are going to be making some serious driver changes.

I think that it is way too early to start talking about driver changes at this point. This year is different than any other year in recent history, and that is due to the addition of a new manufacturer and the introduction of the COT to the mix. I am sure any other year certain predictions could be made about driver's and their rides at this point in the season, just not this year. Remember too, that each race has had over 50 teams trying to get into the show and that NASCAR has the top 35 rule when considering qualifying. Therefore a lot more guys have to get in on just time, and thus many have been turned away on qualification day. That makes for a more difficult overall season than in past years and thus a lot more guys in the basement too.

However to comment on some of your picks. I would be surprised to see Ward return in the 4, and not through any lack of skill on his part. He is a really consistent and clean racer, however he is older and not what the more competitive teams are looking for these days. (Which I think is a shame) Given the right equipment he could be competitive like his brother Jeff.

All of the Toyota teams are going to go through numerous growing pains in the next few seasons, this includes both drivers and those behind the wall. Nobody, regardless of cash flow, can roll right into Nextel Cup racing and expect to be competitive in one season. No way no how...not to the scale that Toyota has entered with so many teams. Think about it... If a new Chevy team comes along they have a lot of technical support from Chevy right from the beginning. That equates to years of racing experience for the new team to rely on. What do the Toyota guys have? A few years in trucks? No...this will be interesting to watch for the next few seasons as all of this starts to work itself out, but do not expect the drivers and their teams to remain the same throughout the process. I hope you're prediction about sponsorship being pulled on the MWR teams does not come true, because like I said this process will take time and money to work itself out. However we all know that racing is a business.
As for some of the other guys that you mentioned...I think Rudd was just there with Yates to bring the new 38 driver up to speed as a mentor, I would not expect him to do more than 30th this year either. There will probably be someone else in the 88 next year.

Not really sure what is going on with Ryan Newman, and that is a shame because he is a talented driver. He did seem to fade the last few seasons and he probably will not be in 12 car much longer, as you have said.
I agree with you on the other predictions though, and I think we will see a more different Silly Season in a few months than we ever have in the past. I just think that the old way of predicting the changes is out the the window this year.

Either way it will be a lot of fun to watch!

Not an easy picture now but as a guess I'd make thislittle prediction;
2 from Roush Racing
3 Toyota drivers
Mayfield(Sponsor goes,so does the team)
Rudd(attempting to keep top 35 alive)
Kyle Petty (looking for another experianced driver)
Others if the price is right could be Nemechek,Kahne,Bliss

Well first off there will be teams making driver changes but the flip side to that is drivers making TEAM changes. If I were at Evernham right now that is what I would be considering. I don't think the drivers there are bad at all. Even Scott Riggs isn't that bad of a driver but he has had some horrible luck so far. He got caught up in another David "Wreck 'Em" Ragan incident at Phoenix that wasn't his fault at all. Riggs looked good in practice and qualified 4th this past week. Anyway, Ragan is one that comes to mind whose team might be looking to replace. Both Gilliland and Rudd are struggling for Robert Yates Racing but so had Sadler and DJ the last couple of years. I don't think Yates has the clout or equipment anymore to pull a top tier driver over to his camp. I think Ryan Newman needs a change of scenery. Kurt Busch is at least looking fast in the 2 car although he hasn't had that great of finishes to show for it. What happened to Rocket Ryan? I know Penske isn't what it used to be but this whole team is struggling to even look competitive. It's way too hard to predict anything with the Toyota teams right now because they have long term goals and say they are committed to backing their 3 teams. The money they are throwing at drivers is also an issue to consider whether drivers will stick it out or want to take a pay cut to have a chance at winning.

Rudd only signed a one year deal, of course he's gone if they don't step it up. I agree that Kyle Petty is moving towards retirement. I think Mayfield will be moved out due to lack of sponsor at Bill Davis Racing. I would be surprised if Jarrett sticks around for very long at MWR the way that things are going over there. I think you may see Danny O'Quinn Jr testing out the waters near the end of the season in the #6 car as the team grows weary of repairing the #6 AAA Fusion week in and week out from senseless crashes like Texas.

If Dale Jr. doesnt get the deal he wants look for him to jump over to another big name racing team like RCR or Hendrick motorsports.
