The fact they exist at all after being scattered 2000 years.
But you say, "don't cite the Bible".
Would you tell a doctor "Don't quote from your medical books"?

In order to talk about the "chosen" people, one MUST quote from the bible. And God hasn't chosen a specific kind of people/ country or anything.

They wrote Scripture.
They were selected to represent G-d to the world.
They will birth Messiah.
They have been the worlds' scapegoat for numerous time periods & nations.
They have been warred against by other nations, yet they won...against all odds.
What other nation (Israel) or language (Hebrew) can claim they were once dead, & now live again?
What other country has a piece of land that virtually every other religion claims a right to?

God delivered Israel--in the old testament--repeatedly. He loved his children, rescued them repeatedly, and they would always turn away from Him. Then when they would suffer and call for Him, He would again--rescue them. The Jews crucified Christ, they are and have always been, God's chosen people, but the Jews that have not accepted Jesus and their Savior, will not enter the gates of heaven.

They wrote some 'books' that said they were.
Or actually, they just defaulted to the position after the rest of the 11 tribes were either killed off or petered out.

Your asking a bible question!
Jesus said he came for the Jews, and he always did what his father/God told him to do.
THEN, he started Christianity
