LASAGNA ~ with the wife is fun. I grate the cheeze while she mixes the secret riccotta cheeze sauce up and layers the pasta in the pan.
Of course she needs me to (or makes me beleive that she does...) open the hard to twist of tops for the red sauce jars.

Why don't you both sit down and look at some Recipie books from the library , decide upon an entire dish you can both do together including the dessert*;)...
what do you both really enjoy eating ...but have never tried making ?? some Italian recipie..?spanish perhaps? French? It will be fun if you both go to the library, you both choose a couple of books each and enjoy figuring out what you can cook up in the kitchen together:) Keep on Smlin*

Here's a fun one that my partner and I use whenever we've got a nice long weekend. One does the lamb, the other does the potatoes. Put them both together and you have a romantic dinner for two, and leftovers for the next day!
Leg of Lamb a la Grecque
Serves 4-6
1 small leg of lamb (approximately 10 pounds or so)
1 cup of olive oil
Juice of 1 large or 2 small lemons
2 tbsp. oregano
6 whole garlic cloves
2 cups of water
Place the leg of lamb in a medium to large basting pan. Rub the leg with oil, lemon juice and oregano. Cut 6 small holes in different parts of the leg with a sharp knife and insert the garlic cloves. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 3 hours, depending upon the size of the leg. After 3 hours, add water to the pan for au jus and cover the lamb loosely with aluminum foil (tented) until you are ready to eat.
While the leg is roasting, prepare the potatoes using the following recipe:
Potatoes a la Grecque
Serves 4-6
4 large roasting potatoes (preferably baking potatoes), peeled and cut into thick slices
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tsp. paprika
Juice of 1 large or 2 small lemons
1 tsp. garlic powder (or to taste)
2 tbsp. chicken bouillon powder
1 cup of water
Place cut-up potatoes into a large shallow baking pan. Add oil, oregano, paprika, lemon juice, oregano, bouillon and paprika over the potatoes. Mix well using either your hands or two large spoons. Bake potatoes uncovered in a 325-degree oven (same as the lamb) for 30 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes or so. Add 1 cup of water and seal the pan with aluminum foil. Bake for another 30 minutes (1 hour total).
*Hint – you can roast the potatoes in the final hour that the lamb is baking. Also, you may substitute 1 cube of chicken bouillon for the powder; just dissolve the cube in the cup of water you would normally use in the recipe and add it after the first 30 minutes in the oven.
Serve both of them above with a tossed salad and French bread or pita. For dessert, nothing goes better than champagne and strawberries! Bon appetit!

Baking!
Something as simple as muffins on Sunday Morning... They have the Martha White mixes that you just add some milk too and bake... Have him measure the milk you do the stiring and pouring then have your tough guy take them in and out of the oven and you have simple but quick fresh muffins...

why not something like taco's since it is easy and then you dont really have to pay too much attention to what you are doing and have a nice conversation while one cooks the beef and the other shreds lettuce, chops tomatoes, shreds cheese.. you get the point.
for real fun bake bread together or a cake or cookies.

my hubbues fave recipes of mine are: slow cook chicken dinner and broccoli/cauliflower casserole. (the broccoli can be either just broccoli, just cauliflower or both)
chicken dinner: take 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, 1 can cream chicken soup, 1can cream mushroom soup, cut some potatoes, cut some carrots, put a little salt, and put all in crock pot on slow. it takes 8 hrs but is really good....
casserole:
take 1 lb of broccoli (or 2 lb if just broccoli or 2 lb if just cauliflower) and 1 lb cauliflower, boil them in pot til they are soft. in a bowl mix: 8 oz sour cream, salt, pkg monterey jack chedder cheese, 1 can green chilies, tblsp butter melted and mix together. once veggies are soft, put them in dish with mixture of bowl, then take 1 box stuffing mix crushed and sprinkle on top and add 1 more tblsp butter melted on top. cook at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. it is really good too.
