i know if it hurts dont chew it. But what if your stitches are out and your teeth feel fine. Does it depend on the person and there pain? I still have stitches and its day 5 for me. i really want to get back to solid foods but idk yet.

OK, the most delicate way I can put this is that you don't want chunks in the sockets. Then you'll get an infection and dry socket. You do NOT want that.

When I got mine pulled 20 years ago I thought I could eat cottage cheese, that's soft right? Uh no, a curd got stuck in the socket, they took the stitches out and it was green-black and I had to have more of that paper stuff shoved back in for another couple weeks.

Play it safe, stick with the soft foods. Trust me...

No one ever told me that. I had my wisdom teeth out in high school and I'm 40 now! I like to crunch on candy, it doesn't bother my teeth.

I wouldn't do it until your gums are healed, a piece of candy stuck in there could cause infection!!!! That will make every thing feel like its on fire!

So it wont cause any more bleeding.
Just keep with soft food a week then start getting harder and harder food.
